Ben Peden got his 900th career hit on September 20, 2023 at Jennie Dean Field.  "Juice" is still a vital player who has contributed to our winning eight league titles.  In 2024, his 16th season, Ben assumed the unaccustomed leadoff spot and continued to produce, closing out the year with an 8 RBI game on a triple and four doubles.  He now has 971 hits, third all time.

Shortstop Andy Zimmerman boasted a .731 batting average to lead the Tools in fall 2024 and tied the team record with 19 hits in a row.  He had 38 hits in all, with multiple hits in 13 straight games including a pair with four and a quintet with three.

Klang Kaboom!  Slugger Andrew Klang launched 19 homers homers in 2024, eight in spring and 11 in fall.  He has become one of our most prolific run producers ever.  He had a great fall season, batting .635, with 39 RBI and 25 runs scored.

Sam Wallach wallops a double at Barcroft Field in June 2024.  He hit .627 in the fall season with 32 hits, among them two triples and five doubles.  He has an ongoing 37 game regular season hitting streak.  Sam is all-time leader with a .696 on base average and is second with a .618 batting average.

Jeff Hart is on this pitch and will execute one of his specialities, either lashing a liner down the right field line or poking that new Dudley foul, over the fence and out of play, to his coach's chagrin.  Jeff does make contact, though, with ongoing hitting streaks of 59 regular season and 65 games overall.  He's failed to get a hit in only six of the 207 games he's played in regular season, playoffs and tourneys.

Rookie Noah Cerrud-Osmer had one of the best Tools offensive years all-time in 2024.  He amassed 23 homers, 39 extra base hits, 165 total bases, 77 RBI and 69 runs scored.  Noah hit .712 in the spring and .613 in the fall.

Pitcher Chris MacDonald tossed several gems in 2024.  While the Tools were slugging Wet Bandits 23-4, C-Mac was in top form, allowing only five hits and zero earned runs (their only rally enabled by Tools infield errors).  He dominated Arlington Mouse Jigglers, scattering 12 hits and ceding only two runs in game one, then pitched a five hitter in the night cap, yielding only one earned run in a 16-3 win.

Ryan Krepp had his best Tools season.  He notched six RBI in a playoff win over Wet Bandits and in the fall had a career high eight extra base hits and his first five for five game.

Ben Simon played the best of his career this fall with a .605 batting average, nine multi-hit games, 26 hits and 23 RBI.

Rett Richey rips a rope along the left field line.  Hitting in the number two spot for most of the year, the outfielder produced lofty on base averages of .712 (spring) and .667 (fall) and was a consistent run producer, belting nine homers.

John Frauenheim crushes a home run.  After having led the team in home runs, RBI and total bases for the first time in fall 2023, John was off to a great start when a shoulder injury ended his 2024 campaign.  With 24 career home runs, he already is 15th all time.

Sam Wallach races home while Andrew Klang pulls into third base as the Tools rally.

Joe Coopersmith had a terrific rookie year, capped off with a .647 fall batting average and .709 on base average.  Joe brought pizzazz, non-stop energy and head first slides.  Then Joe flew the Coop, so to speak, leaving the area after the season ended and he'll be missed.
Well done.  Ryan Krepp receives a congratulatory fist bump by teammate.

Coach Mark Sarver is one of the county's oldest players and has been on the Tools longer than all but one other current player has been alive, but despite that he still can get the job done when needed.  This summer Sarv pinch hit with the bases loaded and two outs, worked the count full then lined a RBI single to right.

Noah Cerrud-Osmer scores a big run.  Noah scored 67 times in 2024, leading the Tools in both spring and fall seasons.

The Tools are raring to go, ready to take on the toughest opponents.  Standing, Andrew Klang, Ryan Krepp, sitting, Joe Coopersmith, Sam Wallach and Noah Cerrud-Osmer, Barcroft Field, 6/12/2024.

Umpire Hank Kopcial settles a minor dispute, confirming our opponents had batted out of order and ruling an inning ending out, killing a rally.

Victory is ours, Joe Coopersmith, Ryan Krepp, Rett Richey, Ben Peden and Andy Zimmerman leaving the field.

C'mon, let's play.  Mark Sarver, Chris MacDonald and Ben Peden were forced under an umbrella as a thunderstorm hit Jennie Dean Field.  The Tools suffered through nine rainouts and another postponed due to excessive heat, that's 20 games.  No wonder make-ups were scheduled as late as November 20, games that the other team forfeited.

We couldn't play, but at least an awesome rainbow colored the evening.

What could be better than an evening of Tools softball on a warm summer evening?  Rett Richey finds his vibe.
